Luz Montoya died in a pedestrian accident in Lubbock, Texas. Her two grandchildren were hurt in the accident as well. The unfortunate incident occurred on July 22, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Montoya and her grandchildren were walking on FM 179 and County Rd. 6520 when they were hit by a truck. All three of them were transported to receive emergency medical treatment. Montoya died as a result of the extreme injuries she sustained. Her two grandchildren are reportedly in critical condition and we hope they have a speedy recovery. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and family of Montoya.

What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

It is always sad to hear about fatal accidents, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
