On Behalf of | May 10, 2016 | Wrongful Death |

Marcus Ewing died in a car accident in College Station, Texas. Frank Douglass IV died in the crash as well. The unfortunate incident occurred on May 8, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Douglass was driving in the opposite direction on Highway 6 and a police officer began following him in attempts to stop the driver. Douglass reportedly ran into an 18-wheeler with two people inside. The two occupants were injured in the crash and were reportedly released from the hospital. Douglass died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident. After the accident, a police vehicle was blocking the road to alert other drivers and Ewing ran into the vehicle and died as a result of his injuries. The police officer was injured in the accident and was reportedly released from the hospital as well. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of Ewing and Douglass IV. We also hope that those injured have a speedy recovery.

What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

It is always sad to hear about fatal car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
