Emma Zamudio and seven others died in a bus accident in Webb County, Texas. The seven others are Altagarcia Torres, Maria De Jesus Musquiz, Dora Nelly Gonzales, Frances Guerrero, Marisela Lopez, Adlefa Garza and Jaime Navarro. Porfirio Vasquez was reportedly the driver of the bus. The unfortunate incident occurred on May 14, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.
According to reports, Vasquez was driving a bus on Highway 83 and lost control of the bus for an unknown reason causing it to roll. Forty-four people were hurt in the bus crash. Eight people died as a result of the extreme injuries they sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of all of those that died in the crash.
What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?
It is always sad to hear about bus collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.
Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.
The facts of this case may support a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
