Emily Agirre died in a Houston, Texas drunk driving car accident. Jose Alvarez and Rodrigo Cornejo were involved in the crash as well. The unfortunate incident occurred on March 26, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a personal injury and wrongful death lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Alvarez was driving a vehicle on Atascocita Rd. with Emily Agirre as his passenger. Reports indicate that this is when a drunk driver, Cornejo, veered into their lane and head-on collided with them. Cornejo was charged with intoxicated manslaughter. As a result of the crash, Alvarez had to be taken to receive emergency medical treatment. His condition is reportedly critical. Agirre died as a result of the extreme injuries she sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and family of Agirre.

Why was the driver driving while intoxicated? Was there anything that could have prevented this fatal collision? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits.
