Bonita Salter died in a car accident in Palestine, Texas. Geronimo Avila, Jorge Salinas, and Mirilyn Allen were involved in the accident as well. The unfortunate incident occurred on March 31, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.
According to reports, Salter was driving her vehicle on North Loop 256 and turned onto Martin Luther King without yielding to other traffic and crashed into another car. As a result of this accident, Salter’s vehicle landed in a ditch. After that, Avila reportedly crashed into Allen’s truck that was at the intersection and her vehicle landed in the ditch as well. Salinas was a passenger in Avila’s truck and was not hurt. Allen was taken to receive medical treatment and her condition is reportedly not serious. Salter died as a result of the extreme injuries she sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of Salter. We also hope that Allen makes a speedy recovery.
What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?
It is always sad to hear about fatal car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.
Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.
The facts of this case may support a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
