Geraldine Trevino killed after police chase with male truck thief

| Sep 24, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

Geraldine Alexandra Trevino is deceased after a car accident with a man driving a stolen vehicle. This fatal incident occurred on the night of September 21, 2015 in San Antonio. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially if evidence supports negligence on the part of the automobile thief.

A man was seen stealing a truck from The Rim shopping center by an undercover detective. The undercover detective followed him, but soon lost track of the moving stolen pickup truck around the Interstate 10 and Huebner area. The detective contacted police officers and the helicopter. The police chase began from there as they tracked him down. The fatal incident occurred when the thief rammed into at least 5 cars on an access road. Reports indicate that the suspect was ejected from the stolen truck he was driving.

Several people were injured because of this horrific collision and carried to the hospital where they were treated. Geraldine Alexandra Trevino was one of the victims that were carried to the hospital. Sadly, Geraldine ended up dying due to injuries sustained from the crash. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Geraldine and the other victims.

Reports indicate that the male thief will most likely face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, murder, and evading arrest.

It is truly saddening that a life is gone after the selfish actions of another person. When driving you never know what is ahead of you, and just because you drive safely doesn’t mean the other person will. This is why it is important that the police do their best to keep unsafe drivers off of the road. It is equally important that these unsafe drivers are punished for the dangerous and selfish way in which they voluntarily choose to operate.

The content of the reports may not be all of the facts of this case. There are some questions that need answering and some actions that need to be explained.

Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police report reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answer to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that families of victims may have plenty of questions regarding their legal options and accident related lawsuits.
