Albert Garrett in fatal 18-wheeler accident in Chilton, Texas.

Reports coming out of Chilton, Texas state Albert Patrick Garrett of Troy, Texas was involved in a vehicle accident that also involved an 18-wheeler. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 6 AM at the intersection of U.S. Highway 77 and State Highway 7. Police believe that Garrett was driving north on Highway 77 when an 18-wheeler that was driving west collided with Garrett's Chevrolet pick-up truck. It is believed that the 18-wheeler slid into the northbound lanes because of the wet weather. Garrett died from the injuries he sustained in the accident while the driver of the 18-wheeler, Louis Diggs Holms was not injured at all. We wonder if this case could trigger a wrongful death claim.

Accidents involving 18-wheelers are not uncommon in Texas.
