Reports coming out of Hale Center state that Jose Sepeda was involved in a pedestrian accident. The accident occurred in the evening when police officer Matthew Cowly hit Sepeda as he was walking in front of the car. Cowly was thought not to have been able to stop in time. Law enforcement is now investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. It is also suspected that Cowly’s headlights may not have been on at the time, making it possible that he did not see Sepeda. However, though Sepeda was taken to the hospital, his condition is not critical.
