These sorts of accidents are not uncommon in Texas.

Reports coming out of Glasscock state that Manuel Perez died in a car accident near Garden City. It is believed that the accident happened on Highway 137. The driver of a Ford Eco, Juan Humberto Salas, was driving north on the highway when he attempted to pass when it was not safe to do so. The car skidded on the road, landed in a ditch, and toppled over. Manuel Perez, who was a passenger in the car, died in the accident. Law enforcement believes that he was not wearing a seatbelt. Juan Salas, the driver, and the three other passengers in the car (Rolando Villarreal-Garcia, Santiago Lopez-Rosales, and Ivan Castillo) were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They were all in their twenties.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families and communities of the victims. We also wonder if this incident triggers a wrongful death claim.
