Patricia Mitchell died in a car crash in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas. Ms. Mitchell was the principal of Whitesboro Middle School. The car accident was caused by Nathan Riney of Sadler. Mitchell died from the injuries that she received in the accident, while Riney was taken to the hospital.

I would imagine that the community is deeply saddened by the accident. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Patricia Mitchell’s family. We understand that the family may have many questions.

The crash happened about one and a half miles south of Whitesboro on Hwy 377 around 7 a.m. According to law enforcement, Nathan Riney was passing another vehicle going southbound when he collided head on with a Suburban driven by Patricia Mitchell.

As you can imagine, Ms. Mitchell’s accident is not the only recent fatal accident in Texas.

Three people were killed in an accident on U.S. Highway 69 as well, near the Fannin and Hunt County line. Investigators say that an SUV containing a man, woman, and infant, was heading north when it crossed over into the southbound lane. An 18-wheeler collided with the car and all three people were killed.

Were all of the passengers related to the driver? We would imagine that the passengers are survived by family members. Those family members may have a wrongful death claim.

What caused the vehicles to go into the other lane? Was there a vehicle malfunction? Were the drivers avoiding an accident? Were they paying attention?
