Amanda Gonzales dies in drunk driving incident in Lubbock, Texas.

Reports coming out of Lubbock, Texas state that Amanda Gonzales died in a car accident. Law enforcement believes that the accident occurred at 82nd Street and Indiana Avenue at about 2 AM when a Chevy Camaro crashed with a Nissan Altima. The Nissan was stopped at a red light when the Chevy crashed into the Nissan. The Chevy was going southbound on the street when it rear-ended the Nissan that was stopped at the red light.

One of the passengers of the Nissan, Amanda Gonzales died from the injuries sustained in the accident. The other passenger in the Nissan, Tina Ramos sustained grave injuries as well as Johnathan Davila, the driver of the Nissan. The third passenger, Xavier Martinez, was hurt but minorly. The driver of the Chevy, Carlos Felix Tovar, was also only minorly hurt.

Carlos Tovar was arrested on counts of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid. He fled from the scene but the police arrested him and took him to a detention center.

As you can imagine, these sorts of incidents happen in Texas occasionally.

Travis Elwell of Mesquite, Texas was arrested by Dallas law enforcement and charged with intoxication manslaughter for the death of Emily Javadi. Police state that speed was a factor in the incident. Elwell did not notice that Javadi was standing next to the car that she had just parked. When he hit the parked car, Javadi was thrown and hit a metal pole. She died from the injuries that she sustained in the accident. The incident occurred at about 5:30 PM.
