Yesterday in Houston, there was a workplace injury that involved a forklift and resulted in the death of Marco Aurelio Rodriguez. He was 33 years old. Marco Rodriguez was crushed by the forklift which may have resulted in a wrongful death case. The accident happened at around 11 p.m.
The accident happened at a business around the 13400 block of Hempstead Highway. The Houston Fire Department responded with heavy equipment to move the forklift. Unfortunately, the worker died at the scene of the workplace accident.
Was this carelessness of the driver? Was the driver operating the forklift after working many overtime hours. Forklift operators should be certified. Was this operator certified?
Injuries and death cases connected to forklifts are not uncommon. The last case that we worked on, involved the loss of fingers from a forklift injury. Other times, the injuries are more severe like in the accident from yesterday.
In the September 9, 2013 Houston, Texas case, the victim suffered from crushing injuries. The family of this individual deserves to know what happened. And they may be entitled to compensation for the loss of this loved one and for their pain and suffering. Just recently, sometime around June 5, 2013, an unmanned forklift crushed two men in the Dallas area. The crushing forklift incident happened at a Nationwide Plastics business. The heavy equipment rolled onto both workers and they were also pronounced deceased at the scene.
