Katy pit bull dog bite case

On Behalf of | Aug 31, 2013 | Wrongful Death |

Recently, a 96-year old man was killed by a pack of dogs in Katy, Texas. The man died as a result of the dog bite injuries. This may be a wrongful death case. Cy-Fair EMS and Harris County deputies responded to the scene. At least two dogs were taken by animal control authorities. Residents in the neighborhood reported that at least one of the attacking dogs belongs to a family that lived behind the victim. An investigation revealed evidence indicating that the animal clawed through the fence before attacking the man. Our sympathies go out this man’s family and friends.

Campos lived in the Katy Country Estates subdivision. He lived in a home with his extended family. He had been a resident of the neighborhood for at least 20 years.

Witnesses believe that either pit bull or “pit bull type dogs were involved. Whenever our law office receives calls related to a dog bite case, the dogs are usually pitbulls. I cannot remember a case where a pit bull was not involved.

Often the dogs belong to a tenant at the house and the tenants do not have insurance to cover the medical bills or a wrongful death settlement. That is why it is important for lawyers to investigate what financial resources are available to compensate the victim or the victim’s family for pain and suffering. These dog attacks that result in scarring or disfigurement are usually serious in scope.
