David West died in head-on car accident in Hood County, Texas

| Feb 1, 2016 | Wrongful Death |

David West died in a motorcycle accident in Hood County, Texas. The incident occurred on January 31, 2016. LaDonna Welch was the other driver involved in the accident. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

Welch was driving on Farm to Market 4 and was allegedly inebriated and talking on her cellular phone. She was in the southbound lane and according to reports she veered into the opposite-directed lanes. After Welch allegedly veered, she collided head-on with West’s motorcycle. West died as a result of the injuries he sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of West.

According to reports, Welch is in jail and is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

There is simply no excuse for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Every time someone turns the key to start the engine it is their responsibility to ensure that they are not impaired in any way.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
