Lennise Gutierrez died in a car accident in Nome, Texas. Rodney Watkins and David Rust also died as a result of the crash. The fatal incident occurred on November 24, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially if an investigation proves the driver was at fault.

Rodney Watkins was driving on 3rd Street with Gutierrez and Rust as passengers. Suddenly, Watkins’ vehicle drifted from the road and collided into a tree. Watkins and Rust died as a result of their extreme injuries. Gutierrez died the next morning from her critical injuries. Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of those that were involved.

It is always sad to hear about car accidents, and this is equally as sad. The roadways and highways are a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

What caused the driver to drift off of the road? Was the driver distracted, sleepy, or under the influence? What other factors are missing from the reports?

Reports indicate that the police have said that they probably won’t find out what caused the accident. There are questions that need to be answered and some actions that may need explanations. The reports cannot always be fully relied upon. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
