Joey Lock dead after motorcycle collision with drunk driver

On Behalf of | Oct 11, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

Joey Lock is dead after a motorcycle crash in Okaloosa County. The head-on crash occurred on the night of October 10, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially since it is reported that the other male driver was in fact legally intoxicated.

Alvaro Moreno-Colorado was driving his vehicle on Highway 90. Joey Lock was riding on his motorcycle and then was hit head-on by Moreno-Colorado’s automobile. Lock died at the scene of the accident due to life-threatening injuries. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Lock.

Moreno-Colorado was taken into police custody with the charges of driving without a valid license and driving under the influence manslaughter.

There is simply no excuse for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Every time someone turns the key to start the engine it is their responsibility to ensure that they are not impaired in any way. This man has taken the life of another person which is the most heinous crime out of them all.

Although the police have discovered the cause of the fatal accident, all of their information cannot be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and accidents caused by drunk drivers.
