Vincent Ireland, a 17-year old student at Saginaw High School, was involved in a fatal car accident in Saginaw, Texas. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 9 PM on the 900 block of East McLeroy Boulevard. The cause of the accident is unknown, but reports state that that the car hit a utility pole and cut the car in half. It should also be noted that it was raining at the time of the accident, which may be a factor in the accident. Ireland was in the back of the car and died from the injuries he sustained in the accident. The three others in the car were injured, but not seriously. We wonder if the cause of the accident was due to the weather. Perhaps the car hydroplaned, left the road, and crashed into the pole.

Reports coming out of Austin state that a motorcyclist was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident. Law enforcement believes that the accident occurred at about 8:30 AM at 600 North MoPac, near Fifth Street. It is unclear as to why the accident occurred. We wonder if any other vehicle was involved or if this was a single-vehicle accident. If the latter is the case, we wonder if this was a case of a vehicle malfunction.

Our thoughts and hearts go out to the victims’ families and communities, who we imagine have been deeply affected by these tragedies. We wonder if these cases could trigger wrongful death claims.
