Student Paul Miltenberger in fatal hit-and-run in Dallas, Texas.

Reports coming out of Dallas, Texas state that Paul Robert Miltenberger, 20, was involved in a hit-and-run incident. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred at about 2:30 AM, near the DART rail station in the 5500 block of East Mockingbird Lane. Miltenberger was attempting to cross the six-lane road when he was hit by a Dodge Charger. Miltenberger was a student at the University of Missouri. According to police, he was not crossing on a pedestrian crosswalk when he was attempting to cross the road. The driver of the Dodge did not stop to render aid.

Reports coming out of Canyon, Texas state that an individual was involved in a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 3:30 AM on Highway 217 near Palo Duro Canyon. Police state that the car was driving eastward on the road when they attempted to pass a car in front of them. They collided head-on with a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle died from the injuries they sustained in the accident.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families and communities of the victims. We imagine that they may have been deeply affected by these accidents. We understand that they may have many questions. In the first accident, is it possible that the driver of the Dodge did not see Miltenberger? Similarly, we wonder if this was the case in the second accident. In the second accident, did the driver of the car attempt to pass when it was legal to do so? Do these cases trigger a wrongful death claim?
