A girl from Nederland, Texas sustained severe injuries after she was involved in a motorcycle accident. The girl was riding as a motorcycle passenger when the motorcycle collided with an SUV at about 4 PM at the intersection of Canal Avenue and Hamilton Court.

The driver of the motorcycle was also taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The three people inside of the SUV were not harmed.

Law enforcement report that neither the driver nor the passenger of the motorcycle were wearing helmets.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims and their families and we hope that the victims have speedy recoveries.

As you can imagine, accidents where the proper protection is not used in moving vehicles are not uncommon in Texas.

A woman who has not yet been identified was killed in a head-on collision in San Antonio. The accident occurred on Loop 1604 near Judson Road at about 7 PM. Law enforcement state that the victim was driving a Kia Sportage and going southbound on the highway. She crossed the division between the southbound and northbound lanes and started driving on the northbound lanes. She was consequentially hit by a Dodge Durango.

Reports state that the driver and passenger of the Durango are in good condition, but the woman in question was killed. Law enforcement believe that she was not wearing a seat belt.

It is incredibly important to wear the proper protection when on a moving vehicle. Wearing protection could be the difference between life and death. No matter how small the accident would otherwise be, the risks of critical injury and even death significantly increase without the correct safety precautions.
