A freak accident left a teenager trapped under a vehicle for what he claims felt like hours. The 18 year-old male was backing out of his driveway on Comal Street when he backed into a ditch and flipped his sports utility vehicle. The teenager ended up trapped beneath the vehicle. His neighbors were awoken by his screams and rushed to his aid with several calling 911. Emergency personnel successfully rescued the teenager within 20 minutes of responding to the scene of the truck accident.
Fortunately, the teenager did not appear to be seriously injured. Nevertheless, we wish him a swift recovery.
Truck accidents occur in mere seconds. After occurrences like this one, it is wise to investigate wether a manufacturer defect is to blame for the vehicle backing up too far, too fast, or involuntarily. In other accidents manufacturer defects have been the primary cause of park-to-reverse accidents often making when the gears malfunction, crashing the vehicle, and injuring its occupants.
Injuries in park-to-reverse accidents can range from minor cuts and bruises to life-altering permanent disfigurement and even death. Anyone injured in a “freak” accident such as this one may be surprised to find out that there is a logical explanation and that the “freak” accident was no “freak” accident after all, but instead the result of an overzealous manufacturer with subpar products.
Victims of manufacturer defects often have many questions that can easily be addressed by a knowledgeable Texas personal injury lawyer. If you have questions about an auto accident, call a Texas personal injury lawyer at 713-572-4900 or 210-800-6049.
