On Behalf of | Dec 19, 2013 | Truck Accidents |

Three people injured in a truck accident remain in unknown condition. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening at about 5:00 p.m. when an SUV, a GMC Envoy, ran a red traffic light at the State Highway 121 Business and Railroad Street intersection in Lewisville. Lewisville officials report the SUV was travelling eastbound on State Highway 121 Business when the driver failed to stop at a red traffic light and struck a school bus that then veered and crashed into a small car, a Honda Civic.

The female bus driver was injured and air lifted to a Plano hospital. Two males that were traveling in the SUV were also injured, with one air lifted to a Plano hospital and the second to a local hospital. Fortunately, there were no children aboard the bus at the time of the accident. The occupants of the small car also reported no injuries.

At this time it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in this truck accident. Cell phone use or other distractions could have been the unerlying cause of the accident. Whatever the reason may be, it appars that the driver of the SUV failed to follow traffic laws when he ran the red light. Consequently, he may be held responsible for the injuries of the bus driver as well as the injuries of his own passenger.
