Houston car accident almost hits home

Around 2:15 a.m. Monday morning, a car nearly hit a southeast Houston, Texas home. The car accident resulted in person injuries. Police said a driver could face charges after the crash that almost hit the house. Houston police report that it looks like the white car was speeding, maybe up to 80 miles per hour, headed northbound down Reveille Street.

Police officials said the white car came upon a pickup truck headed eastbound on Dixie Drive right before the car accident. The car hit the pickup in the side, sending both vehicles into a yard and a fence. Real property damage resulted in the crash. The man driving the pickup truck was trapped in his vehicle. Responder crews were forced to use heavy equipment to cut him from his truck.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. Officials said they both suffered broken bones. They probably also suffered from head injuries and neck and back injuries as a result of the car accident.

Investigators said the driver of the white car appeared impaired. It looks like it may have been a drunk driving accident. The driver of the white car may have been driving while drunk. Authorities said he will face driving while intoxicated and assault charges pending the outcome of their investigation.
