Roberto Sanchez, an Austin, Texas resident died in an alleged wrong way driving car accident on Texas 71 early Sunday morning. He was 54-years-old. According to police, Mr. Sanchez was driving a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder west in eastbound lanes when his SUV struck a 2007 Hino 268 commercial truck head-on. Another Austin resident, Juan Gabriel, was driving the commercial truck. We would imagine that Mr. Gabriel had suffered some bodily injury as the result of this high impact crash.
About a day after this fatality accident on Texas 71, another person was in a car accident that resulted in death. This particular accident occurred near Texas 130. In this situation, the driver of a SUV also collided with a cargo van that was driving in the opposite direction, according to a statement. The cargo van driver was able to stop the vehicle. However, the SUV driver hit the van. The SUV driver died at the scene of the accident. The collision occurred just east of Texas 130, and is similar to a fatal crash 1 a.m. Saturday on Texas 71 near Spicewood, when another driver crossed into in-coming traffic and was killed after colliding with a trailer. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family members of those that have died and that are injured in these accidents.
There are various reasons why cars go the wrong way on a highway. Sometimes it is because the local government has failed to put proper road signs to signal that a lane is a one way. It may be because a ramp did not have a “do not enter” sign. Signs on highways and roads are important. When someone removes or fails to put an important sign, they may be at fault. They may be negligent.
