According to reports, Martin was driving on Highway 171 and veered into the opposite lane crashing head-on with a vehicle being driven by Perkins. Reports indicate that the initial crash caused Perkins’ vehicle to crash head-on with a truck being driven by Mineral Wells Police Chief Dean Sullivan. Sullivan and Perkins were injured in the crash. Martin died as a result of the extreme injuries he sustained as a result of the accident. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to those involved and their families and friends.

It is always sad to hear about fatal accidents, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Why did the accident really occur? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
