Esteban Ruiz died in a car accident in Edcouch, Texas. Alexis Bocanegra was taken to jail in connection with the accident. The fatal incident occurred on February 16, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, a vehicle was headed down Mile 16 and allegedly ran a stop sign at an intersection. It is reported that this was the cause of the crash that occurred involving three vehicles. Bocanegra has allegedly been charged with criminal negligent homicide. Two people were injured in the accident, but their injuries were small. Ruiz died as a result of the extreme injuries he sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and family of Ruiz.

It is always sad to hear about car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Why did the vehicle allegedly run the stop sign? Was the driver distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
