Ashley Roberson McGaha died in an 18-wheeler accident in Houston, Texas. Demetrius Bucanan died in the accident as well. The fatal and unfortunate incident occurred on February 26, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, a truck being driven by Bucanan was headed on the feeder road of Beltway 8 and disregarded a traffic light once reaching the Antoine Dr. intersection. Reports indicate that this was the cause of the truck crashing with another vehicle. A man and a child were both injured in the accident. McGaha and Bucanan died as a result of the extreme injuries they sustained in the crash. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of McGaha and Bucanan. We also hope that the child and man have a speedy recovery.

It is always sad to hear about car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Why did the truck allegedly run the traffic light? Was the driver distracted? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death or personal injury lawsuits.
