Daniel Mendoza died in a drunk driving accident in El Paso, Texas

On Behalf of | Dec 9, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

Daniel Mendoza died in a drunk driving accident in El Paso, Texas. Jesus Mireles was injured in the crash as well. The fatal and unfortunate accident occurred on December 6, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially since evidence proves that Mireles was under the influence.

Mireles was driving intoxicated in his vehicle on Hondo Pass Dr. with Mendoza as his passenger. While Mendoza was in the car, he called authorities to alert them that Mireles was speeding, driving recklessly, and would not let him out of the vehicle. Suddenly, Mireles then began to drive on Dyer Dr. and collided into multiple stalled vehicles. Mireles was hurt in the car accident and was taken to receive emergency medical treatment. Mendoza was carried to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, but later died. Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to Mendoza’s family and friends.

There is simply no excuse for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Every time someone turns the key to start the engine it is their responsibility to ensure that they are not impaired in any way. This man has taken the life of another person which is the most heinous crime out of them all.

Mireles was initially charged with manslaughter while under the influence, but now he could be brought up on a charge of murder.

Why was Mireles behind the wheel under the influence? Why wouldn’t he let Mendoza out of the car? What other factors are missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
