Jaten Kennedy died after hit by car in a College Station accident

Jaten Kennedy died after being hit by a car in a College Station, Texas pedestrian accident. He was hit by a car driven by Samuel Huerta. The fatal incident occurred on November 21, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially since Huerta was arrested.

Kennedy was walking with someone else shortly past midnight close to Texas A&M. Huerta was driving in his vehicle and proceeded to hit Kennedy and the other pedestrian. The other pedestrian sustained injuries that was not critical. Kennedy was seriously injured and died the next day in the hospital. Our hearts and prayers go out to Kennedy’s family and friends.

According to reports, the police discovered some evidence after the accident that gives them the impression that the male driver Huerta had been previously drinking alcohol. In light of the evidence, the police gave Huerta a sobriety test to confirm or not if he was legally intoxicated. He failed the test and was arrested with a DWI.

There is simply no excuse for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Every time someone turns the key to start the engine it is their responsibility to ensure that they are not impaired in any way. This man has taken the life of another person which is the most heinous crime out of them all.

Although the police have their own reports, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits and accidents caused by drunk drivers.
