Investigation of 4 dead in car accident in Austin underway

On August 30, 2015 law enforcement and first responders received a call regarding a fiery car accident in a 2008 Nissan Altima that resulted in four dead on Sunday morning. Those investigating the accident suspect that the driver may have been speeding when the driver crashed into a concrete barrier at a T-intersection in Austin, TX. At one point, the vehicle was airborne before landing in the parking lot. It was then that the vehicle caught fire.

Chief Palmer Buck of the Austin Fire Department stated that when emergency personnel approached the scene, they saw that the vehicle was completely surrounded by a blazing fire. By the time firefighters were able to pull out the four men inside, the car was already heavily damaged and all four men were deceased. He also suggested that there was a gaping hole where the car crashed through the barricade.

Nearby businesses were also affected by the accident with mostly superficial damage. They include the local Mighty Fine Burgers, Chipotle and Mattress Firm.

Law enforcement officials are withholding the names of the four men who passed away in the accident until their families have been notified of the accident. It is not yet clear if there was any negligence involved, or if the car accident may result in a wrongful death case. Buck only suggested that the vehicle was travelling at an exceptionally high speed when the accident occurred.

Attorneys do not always rely on police reports to obtain information. Personal injury lawyers often hire private investigators to gather more facts about each case and the true cause of an accident. Are you looking for answers to your questions?
