On Behalf of | May 6, 2015 | Truck Accidents |

Melissa Soto, 23, of Pomona California was involved in a fatal vehicle accident near Arlington. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at the intersection between Old Blue Mound Road and Farm Road 156 at about 8 PM. Police believe that Soto did not stop at the intersection, causing her to collide with a tractor-trailer. Soto died at the scene of the accident while two of her passengers were taken to the hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. We wonder what may have caused Soto to not stop at the intersection. Was it a case of distracted driving or perhaps a vehicle malfunction?

Truck accidents are not uncommon in Texas.

Reports coming out of Kaufman County, Texas state that two individuals were taken to the hospital after their involvement in a vehicle accident. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred on Westbound I-20, near the Kaufman-Van Zandt County line at about 7 PM. The accident involved an 18-wheeler and a box truck. It is not yet known why the accident occurred but it seems that the box truck rear-ended the 18-wheeler. Both drivers had to be taken to the hospital. It is not yet known whether their injuries are serious. We wonder what may have been the cause of the accident. Was this, as in our speculations in the accident above, a case of a vehicle malfunction? Could the driver of the box truck been distracted?

We sincerely hope that those hospitalized have speedy recoveries and our condolences go out to the family of the victim.
