Barbara Raulston in fatal 18-wheeler crash in Paris, Texas.

Barbara LeAnn Raulston was involved in a fatal car accident in Paris, Texas. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred in the 600 block of Southeast Loop 286 at about 9 PM. Police believe that Raulston was driving a Dodge Journey and was waiting to turn onto CR 11300. The driver of a Honda Civic rear-ended the Dodge, pushing it into the path of an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler could not stop in time and T-boned the Dodge. Raulston was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries. The driver of the Honda and 18-wheeler were not injured.

Accidents in which 18-wheelers are involved are not uncommon in Texas.

Christian Taylor Champine, was involved in a fatal vehicle accident in Freestone County. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred on State Highway 164, near Buffalo at about 7:30 PM. Police believe that Champine was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe on the highway when the car was struck by an 18-wheeler that was driving north on Freestone County Road 784. The driver of the 18-wheeler, Tommy Roberson, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 164, and was turning left, but failed to yield right of way to Champine. Though Champine saw the 18-wheeler, there was not enough time to break successfully, and he collided with the 18-wheeler. Champine died from his injuries, and his passenger, Malik Brown, 19 was injured. However, Brown was released from the hospital.

We wonder if the above accidents could trigger wrongful death claims.

Reports coming out of Amarillo state that Jennifer Delacerda Rodriguez was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident. Law enforcement believe that the accident occurred on the 3400 block of Canyon Drive at about 12:30 PM. Rodriguez was driving her Honda CRB1000 motorcycle on I-27 when she lost control of the vehicle and hit the center median. She died from the injuries she sustained in the accident. Police believe that a factor in the accident may have been speed. In addition, police believe that Rodriguez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
