A car accident in Handy Township, Texas left five people critically injured in the hospital. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 11 PM on the Nicholson Road overpass on I-96. A Nissan Altima was driving on the highway when it left the road and crashed into a Ford F-150 that was parked behind a Ford Ranger. When the Nissan rear-ended the Ford, a man who was in between the two Fords was thrown. A woman who was getting out of the F-150 was also injured because of the crash. The driver and two passengers of the Nissan, which included a man, his wife, and his 1-year old baby, were also taken to the hospital with injuries. The cause of the accident is unknown. We wonder if this was a case of vehicle malfunction or perhaps the driver was attempting to avoid an obstacle in the road, which caused him to lose control of the car.

Reports coming out of Canyon, Texas state that Guy Wayne Pigg was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident. Law enforcement believe that the accident occurred on State Highway 217 when the driver of a Jeep Wrangler, Yessica Talavera, was heading east on the highway. She was attempting to pass another car and drove into the eastbound lane to do so. She failed to see Pigg, the motorcyclist, and collided head-on with the motorcycle. Pigg was killed on impact. We wonder if this case could trigger a wrongful death claim. Was Talavera attempting to pass in a legal zone?
