Cody Hare involved in fatal 18-wheeler crash in Big Spring, Texas

Reports coming out of Big Spring, Texas state that Cody Rhea Hare was killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler. Law enforcement believes that the accident occurred at about 2 PM on Ranch Road 33, near Garden City. Police believe that the 18-wheeler was driving north on Ranch Road 33 when it drove into the southbound lane and hit Hare's car, a GMC pick-up truck. Hare died from the injuries he sustained in the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler, Philip Edward Davoust from El Paso was not critically injured. Police believe that Davoust passed left dangerously, not looking to see if there were any cars coming.

Reports coming out of Argyle, Texas state that a worker was killed when a part of the Argyle High School that was under construction at the time collapsed. The incident occurred at about 8 PM. There were three more who were injured but not critically so. The worker was subcontracted by Warnick Metal Building Erectors of Haltom City. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is currently investigating the cause of the accident. However, it should be noted that this is not the first time that Warnick Metal's constructions have collapsed. Milliorn Investments sued Warnick Metal in 2007 when a building collapsed in Haltom City due to a tornado. A few sections of the wall were not correctly welded, which was a factor to the collapse.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims' families, who we imagine have been deeply affected by these accidents. We understand that they may have many questions. While investigations are currently being done, we do wonder whether these cases could trigger wrongful death claims.
