Reports coming out of Houston, Texas state that a person and nine other people were taken to the hospital due to a drunk driving incident. Law enforcement believes that the accident occurred at about 10 PM in the 1500 block of Gears Street, near Crown Park. The drunk driver, Jose Martir Salazar-Ramirez, was driving in the wrong direction when he collided head-on with a pick-up truck. Inside Salazar-Ramirez’s car, a Mitsubishi, were two other people. The fatality was one of the passengers, while the other passengers, including those who were in the truck, were taken to the hospital. Included in the other vehicle were a few children, who had to be taken to the hospital as well. However, they seem to be in stable condition.

Drunk driving incidents are, unfortunately, not uncommon Texas.

Jonathan Reed, a student at Texas Christian University killed Elena Infante De Flores in a drunk driving incident. The accident occurred at about 10 PM in Forth Worth, near the four-way intersection at Benbrook Boulevard, Granbury Road, McCart Avenue, and Cleburne Avenue. Reed was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe when he collided with Infante De Flores’s car, a Saturn Vue.
