Shannon Brown involved in car crash in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Reports coming out of Nacogdoches, Texas state that Shannon Brown died in a car accident. The accident occurred on West Loop 224 near Sandia Street at about 2 PM. Brown was driving north in a 2011 Chevrolet when she pulled onto the shoulder of the highway. She attempted to go back into the flow of traffic when she drove into the way of a 2015 Chrysler. The driver of the Chrysler was Thomas Lee from Louisiana. There was a passenger in Brown’s car and two passengers in Lee’s car that were taken to the hospital. Reports state that the passengers did not grievous injuries.

Reports coming from Amarillo, Texas state that John David Torres and a three-year old child died in a car accident. The accident occurred on State Highway 256 near Lakeview. Law enforcement believes that Torres was driving east on the highway. He went off the road and hit a ditch. He continued to drive in the ditch until he hit a culvert. He and the passenger, which was an infant, died. There was also another passenger, a seven-year old child that was taken to the hospital. He is in critical condition.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims of the accidents. We imagine that the families of the victims have been deeply affected by the accidents. In the second incident, we wonder what may have happened to instigate the accident. Was the driver paying attention? Was there a vehicle malfunction?
