Lorrie Flores, from Sheffield, Texas died in a head-on collision near Fort Stockton. Law enforcement states that the accident occurred at about 1 PM on Interstate 10. A police officer had pulled Flores over for an unknown reason, when she bolted from the scene, driving on the wrong side of the road. Flores collided with a semi-truck, who was being driven by Alberto Garcia, from Florida. Flores died from the injuries sustained in the accident, while Garcia was released in a stable condition after being sent to the hospital. Police state that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time.

Reports coming out of Corpus Christi, Texas state that Carol Viers also died in a car accident. The accident occurred at about 1:30 AM at Belvins Street and Florida Street near the Del Mar College. Viers lost control of the vehicle, after which the vehicle flipped over a few times, throwing Viers out of the car. She died from the injuries sustained in the accident. The passenger who was in the vehicle at the time was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. Law enforcement does not believe that alcohol was a cause of the accident.
