Recent motorcycle accidents in Texas

In recent days, there have been several motorcycle accidents on Texas roads. In the first incident, a deadly motorcycle accident occurred on U.S. 54 Saturday afternoon. It happened at about 12:08 p.m. near the access ramp that connects U.S. 54 south and I-10. Jerimia Krystecki, 24, died at the location of the crash. According to police, the rider was speeding on U.S. 54 when he lost control of his motorcycle. According to reports, he was then thrown off his motorcycle after hitting a retaining wall. Luckily, no other persons were injured in the accident. Often times such incidents lead to a wrongful death case.

The second incident involved a motorcycle death in Bosque County, Texas. In this accident related death, the rider died Saturday afternoon after his bike left a rural road and crashed into a barbed wire fence some time after 2 p.m. Reports indicate that the man is named Jerry Don McGhee.

According to reports, the incident occurred eight miles southwest of Clifton on FM 219 when McGhee was headed east. The report states that he failed to negotiate a curve, which caused the bike to leave the roadway. Sadly, McGhee was pronounced dead at the scene.

The third incident according the Texas Department of Public Safety occurred on Sunday. The motorcycle rider has been identified as Jerry Don McGhee, 66, of Alvarado, Texas.

According to DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson, McGhee was riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northeast on Farm Road 219 eight miles south of Clifton. The trooper reported that the motorcycle left the road and crashed into a barbed-wire fence. The man died at the location of the accident.

A forth incident occurred when one person died in an wreck at midnight Saturday on Hill County Road 1217 east of Farm Road 2604, five miles east of Lake Whitney. According to the police, one vehicle overturned. The motorcycle rider, an unidentified Fort Hood soldier, was taken to Scott & White in Temple.
