3 causes of vacation drowning leading to wrongful death in TX

On Behalf of | Mar 5, 2014 | Wrongful Death |

We are coming up to a time where families are planning for vacation. Many are looking forward to a time to leave the chilly and sometimes gloomy weather for some sunny days on the beach. Hard working families are now looking forward to a great stress-free time where they can come home to share moments with family and loved ones.

Unfortunately, while some families will enjoy vacation and the time after, for other families have quite a different experience. Some people leave for vacation and never return home due to a wrongful death. Do you know someone that has lost a family member during a vacation? If so, you know that it can be a dreadful time. It is a time that often involves confusion, anger, and frustration.

One of the common ways for an individual to fall victim of a wrongful death while on vacation is by drowning. Some of the common causes for a drowning while on vacation are:

•   Swimming pool. For many, a vacation is not a vacation when a family member is injured. Kids and adults both enjoy a good swimming pool. When a resort pool is not properly maintained, supervised by a lifeguard, or equipped with proper warning signs, it can be dangerous. In the end, these types of hazards can lead to a death.

•   Scuba diving. A properly trained scuba diver can greatly enjoy time underwater. However, if a scuba diver is not properly taught and supervised, it can be a deadly experience.

•   Open water. Oceans, lakes, and rivers are fun areas to play, but they can all be dangerous. A drowning may occur while on a personal watercraft, swimming, boating, kayaking or canoeing.

If you have questions about lawsuit related to water related injuries, feel free to contact a Texas personal injury lawyer.
