Possible Wrongful Death car accident in Channelview, Texas

On Behalf of | Sep 16, 2013 | Car Accidents |

It was a sad day in Channelview, Texas when an 18-year old passenger died in a car crash. The driver of the car was 19 years old and was driving a Honda Civic. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young person that was lost too soon in this horrific car accident on Woodforest Blvd.

The Harris County Sheriff’s department commented on the car accident involving the passenger death. The Sheriff’s department believes that the driver was speeding. A view of the accident scene shows a mangled car. It is hard to believe that anyone would have been able to survive the crash after looking at the condition of the car.

The 19 year old went to the hospital, but the 18 year old passanger died at the scene. Is this a wrongful death case because of the driver’s negligence? Probably so. The families of these young adults probably have a lot of questions. We hope that they have their questions answered and have some peace. Deputies believe that alcohol was related in the crash. This means that the driver may have been driving under the influence of alcohol. Was the driver cited for intoxication? Will criminal charges be pressed?

Neighbors in the area when the accident happened complain that too often cars speed in their neighborhood. In this case, the car hit a curb and crashed into a tree. One man, who was not personally involved in the accident, claims to have suffered damage to his truck because of the incident.
