On Behalf of | Aug 13, 2013 | Truck Accidents |

In a truck accident in San Antonio, Texas, two people were killed this past Tuesday. It involved a wrong way collision on the south side of San Antonio.

The names of the deceased are: Timothy Ray Furr, 53, and Melodie Ann Trevino, 48.

San Anotnio police department reported that several people called to report that a red Dodge Ram pickup truck. The callers said that the truck was traveling north in the wrong direction of Interstate 35 near SW Military Drive. The calls came in around 11:00 p.m.

But it was too late. The police could not respond in time. The driver of the truck, Furr, crashed into Trevino’s minivan. That was when the minivan spun out of control and was smashed and crashed into by a 18-wheeler truck. The big rig T-boned the minivan. Truck accidents like this should not occur when people are following the rules of the road and not drinking and driving. Truck driver errors are why these incidents occur.

Trevino died at the scene of the accident. San Antonio Fire Department had to cut the vehicle in order to remove her.

Rafael Trevino , 23 years old, was taken to the hospital and listed in cridical condition.

Furr, who was driving the wring way, did not die at the scene. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

We are unsure why Furr was driving the wrong way. But an investigation should begin. Perhaps it was the result of driving while intoxicated or drug use. These are questions that the family probably wants answered.
