Truck Accident in Fort Bend pond.

On Behalf of | Jul 29, 2013 | Truck Accidents |

In Fort Bend County, Texas a man died in what may have been a truck accident. He was 22 years old and he died Sunday evening after he drove his truck into a pond in Fulsher.

People authorities report that the male driver was speeding when he drove off the road and ran the truck into the pond.

According to one witness, a man tried to help the driver out of the water, but they were unable to retrieve him.

The Fulshear police have reported that the drowned man is Juan Ortiz-Rodriguez of Houston.

A Richmond, Texas Fire Department dive team located the driver’s body and took him out of the water. The truck was then extracted a few hours later after the vehicle accident. Was this a commercial truck accident?

We expect the medical examiner’s office to perform an autopsy and a toxicology test to determine what caused the crash or cause of death. Witnesses said they saw the man “splashing around” near the truck before both he and the vehicle went under water. Did the driver know how to swim? Was he caught on the truck when it sank? Was this accident the result of a distracted driver? Truck accidents often occur because of distracted drivers and sometimes impairment.

Both the Fulshear Police Department and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Cinco Creek Ranch subdivision after the truck accident occurred.
