Reed Road Accident possible Wrongful Death Case

There was a fatal auto accident at 4900 Reed Road in Houston, Texas on or about July 28, 2013. This may be a wrongful death case. The Houston police department is investigating thr automobile accident. It occured around 8:10 p.m. on Sunday.

The deceaed was 25 years old and taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identify is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The Houston Police Department Crimes Division reported that the driver of a white Acura RLX was traveling southbound onJutland. The SUV was stopped at the Reed Rod intersection that evening right before the motorcycle accident. Although the officer was not at site at the time of the accident, the officer stated that after verifying traffic was clear, the SUV then continued and pulled into the intersection. The vehicle stopped in the middle to ensure that the eastbound lanes were clear before continuing, so said the reporting officer. Police report that witnesses stated that the deceased individual was operating a Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed. The witnesses did not have radar devices. According to the witnesses, the motorcycle was traveling westbound in the turn only lane of Reed Road and doing a wheelie. The witnesses say the motorcycle then sturck the Acura. But who stops in the middle of an intersection to see if traffic was clear. Driver normally check traffic conditions before entering an intersection.

We think this motorcycle accident needs further investigation to determine whether this is a wrongful death case.
