Eunice Chavez died in a drunk-driving car accident in Dallas, Texas. Abby Corchado was the driver of the vehicle Chavez was in. Michelle Davis was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and an accident resulting serious bodily injury. The unfortunate incident occurred on June 19, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Corchado and Chavez were on Highway 75 close to the Knox-Henderson exit when the car they were in was crashed into. The vehicle that hit them kept driving, but Corchado drove into the median to contact authorities. They were both standing in the median when all of a sudden Davis struck Chavez with her vehicle. Chavez died as a result of the extreme injuries she sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of Chavez.

What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

It is always sad to hear about fatal car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
