Alan Dieguez was involved in an alleged drunk-driving accident in Jarrell, Texas. Dieguez was a police officer that was off-duty at the time of the car accident. One person died and three other people were hurt. The unfortunate incident occurred on June 21, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Dieguez was allegedly driving drunk on Interstate 35 when he crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler. The initial 18-wheeler crash caused a chain reaction with two additional 18-wheelers. One person died as a result of their extreme injuries and three people were sent to receive emergency medical treatment. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of the victim that died. We also hope that those that were injured make a speedy recovery.

Dieguez was charged with driving while under the influence in connection with the accident and also misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon.

What was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

It is always sad to hear about car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
