On Behalf of | May 23, 2016 | Wrongful Death |

Israel Avelar died in a car accident in Carthage, Texas. Avelar’s three sons, Kevin Avelar, Daniel Avelar, and Matthew Avelar, died in the crash as well. The unfortunate incident occurred on May 21, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, the Avelar’s were in their vehicle headed down Highway 315 and slowed down for the car ahead of them making a left-handed turn. A truck behind them reportedly failed to slow down and hit them causing them to crash with a tractor.

Hilda Avelar was injured in the crash and her condition is reportedly critical. Kimberly Avelar was hurt and her condition is reportedly stable. Lazara Avelar was injured and her condition is reportedly stable. Israel, Kevin, Daniel, and Matthew Avelar died as a result of the extreme injuries they sustained. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of the Avelar’s.

What was the cause of the fatal accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

It is always sad to hear about car collisions, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
