On Behalf of | Mar 11, 2016 | Truck Accidents |

Benjamin Weems died in a truck accident in Marble Falls, Texas. Joseph Slocum was the other person involved in the crash. The unfortunate incident occurred on March 7, 2016. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially once the investigation is complete.

According to reports, Slocum was paused at a stop sign in his 18-wheeeler and Weems was driving his truck on Highway 281. Reports indicate that this was when Slocum neglected to yield to the other drivers and tried to turn onto the highway resulting in the crash. Slocum was taken to possibly receive medical treatment. Weems died as a result of the extreme injuries he sustained in the accident. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Weems. We also hope Slocum makes a speedy recovery.

It is always sad to hear about fatal car accidents, and this accident is equally as sad. The roads are always a place where unpredictable moments take place. That is why driving safely is so important.

What really was the cause of the accident? Was anyone distracted or under the influence? Are there any other factors missing from this report?

Although the police are doing their own investigating, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
