On Behalf of | Dec 14, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

Everett Matheney was arrested after a car accident in Arlington, Texas. Matheney was found to be drunk driving. The fatal and unfortunate accident occurred on December 11, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially since evidence proved that he was intoxicated.

Matheney was driving his vehicle leaving a car lot on East Arkansas Lane. He proceeded to cross the street while not yielding to those on the road and collided into a motorcycle. The person on the motorcycle died as a result of her extreme injuries. Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of the person that passed away.

Matheney was transported to jail because he was driving under the influence. He is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

It is truly sad to hear about this drunk driving accident. Every time someone gets behind the wheel it is their responsibility to ensure that they are able to drive safely and driving drunk is anything but safe.

Although the police have their own reports, they cannot always be fully relied upon. There are some questions that may still need answers and some actions that may need explanations. Personal injury lawyers do not always rely on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death lawsuits.
