Alexis Musumeci and Brittany Musumeci died after head-on collision

On Behalf of | Sep 29, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

Alexis Musumeci and Brittany Musumeci died in a horrific car accident in Martin County. The fatal accident occurred on the night of September 26, 2015. We would anticipate that this case may result in a wrongful death lawsuit, especially if evidence will show negligence on the part of the wrong-way driver.

Brittany Musumeci was driving on Interstate 95 in the southbound lane. Admerson Cleber Eugenio Vicente was driving on the highway in the wrong direction. He was going northbound in the southland lanes. Vicente’s car horrifically collided head-on with the Musumeci’s car.

Both of the cars caught on fire as a result of the collision. Vicente was carried to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Currently, the extents of his injuries are not known. Alexis Musumeci and her passenger, Brittany Musumeci, both died at the scene of the accident. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the Musumeci’s.

The Florida Highway Patrol opened an investigation to figure out whether the wrong-way driver, Vicente, had alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of the car accident.

If evidence shows that he was impaired, then that just makes the story even more horrific. There is simply no excuse for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Every time someone turns the key to start the engine it is their responsibility to ensure that they are not impaired in any way. This man has taken the life of two women which is beyond heinous.

Although the police are doing their own investigation, they cannot always be fully relied upon. Personal injury lawyers do not always go by everything on the police reports. They often hire private investigators to find the answers to additional questions. Investigators often obtain helpful information that is not included in the police report, information that family members sometimes want to know.

The facts of this case may support a wrongful death lawsuit. The Weaver Law Firm understands that family and friends may have plenty of questions regarding wrongful death and accidents caused by drunk drivers.
