Reports coming out of Grimes County state that Alexis Emmou, 22, of Killeen, Texas and Corinthia Cunningham-Williams, 22, of Brookshire, Texas were involved in a fatal single-car accident. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 1 AM on FM 244, near Carlos, Texas. The driver, Emmou, was driving at a high speed and turned a curve at that unsafe speed, causing the car to go off the road and crash into a tree. Emmou and Cunningham-Williams both died at the scene of the accident, while two others in the vehicle were taken to the hospital. One of the passengers, Tyra Preston, 20, of Houston, was reported to be in stable condition but the other passenger, Rene Contreras, 20, of Kyle, was in critical condition.
A hit-and-run driver that caused an accident about a month ago was charged. Kelly Corn turned himself in for the murder of Saxton Watley, a six-year old boy. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred on Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma near the corner of North Pennsylvania Avenue and West Memorial Road. Corn went the wrong way on the road and drove on the westbound off-ramp onto the highway. His truck hit Shavon McNack’s car, causing the death of Saxton. McNack’s other son, Stephen Watley, 9, was critically injured. Before he struck McNack’s vehicle, he also struck a car in a restaurant parking lot before passing out, being woken up by the owner of the car, and driving away to head towards the ramp. According to reports, Corn had trace of methamphetamine and opiates in his blood. Corn faces charges of second-degree murder.
