Law enforcement believes that Gilman was turning near Dunford Road when the motorcycle almost collided head-on with a F-150 Ford truck. Though the motorcycle did not physically collide with the truck, it did fall to its side, sending Gilman under the front of the truck. Gilman died from the injuries he sustained in the accident. It is unknown whether the driver of the truck, Caleb Olinger, was injured. Police believe that speed was a factor in the accident.

We urge motorcyclists to be careful while riding their vehicles. We also urge car drivers to be attentive of motorcyclists because they can be difficult to notice. It is much more impactful if one has an accident as a motorcyclist than as a car driver so we urge caution when riding such a mode of transportation.
